Nestled in the Okanagan Highland foothills of the Black Sage Bench just southeast of Oliver, these Chardonnay blocks were planted in 1999 on a west-facing plateau to a mix of clone 76 and our heritage ‘Dekleva’ clone.
The soil is composed of sand and gravel formed by glacial activity. The porous nature of the soils limits the vigour of the vines, producing low-yielding grape clusters concentrated in flavour.
Our parcels are surrounded by steep, jagged rock hills, which radiate heat and offer protection from the elements. The clone 76 vines bring freshness and tension, while the Dekleva clone contributes aromatics and a rich texture.
The combination of soil type, exposure, slope, vine age and plant material yields concentrated and balanced wines.
