2019 Queen Taken Chardonnay

This wine has essences of citrus peel and white peach, pear and wet stone, combined with delicate floral notes.  The palate has generous fruit flavours of peach, nectarine and apricot, layered mid-palate richness and focused acidity, providing a long, textured, mineral finish.

Dekleva Vineyard

Southwest of the town of Oliver, this vineyard contains some of the oldest Chardonnay plantings in Canada. Located beneath Mt. Kobau and the Thompson Plateau, these vines are approaching 50 years of age. Of unknown origin, the vines are an extraordinarily distinctive Chardonnay clone named Dekleva in honour of the family who planted this vineyard.

This wine has mineral restraint and is expressive at the same time. The palate showcases limey stone fruits with a rich, savoury, tense undercurrent.

94 Points, Anthony Gismondi

The wine, which has a moderately fleshy texture, begins with aromas of apricots and spice. That carries through to the flavours. The finish is long, with a hint of wet stone.

95 Points, John Schreiner

This regal Chardonnay is made with a clone of mysterious origin that grows on what may be Canada's oldest plantings, topping four decades in age. Aromas of kiwi, lime and the jasmine-driven scent of green clover. A balanced, medium-bodied with and creamy mouthfeel and flavors like segments of white grapefruit, blood orange and chalk dust.

93 Points, Michael Alberty, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
