Deep, rocky soils and old, gnarly vines (planted in the early 1970’s) combine to create a wine with sub-tropical fruit and wet stone aromas. The palate mirrors the nose and transitions from a rich entry to a long mineral finish with signature wet stone notes.

Southwest of the town of Oliver, this vineyard contains some of the oldest Chardonnay plantings in Canada. Located beneath Mt. Kobau and the Thompson Plateau, these vines are approaching 50 years of age. Of unknown origin, the vines are an extraordinarily distinctive Chardonnay clone named Dekleva in honour of the family who planted this vineyard.

The nose opens with subtropical fruit and wet stones on a hot day. What begins with rich, peachy fruit leans out to more mineral, wet stone notes showing fine complexity.

This single-vineyard bottling uses vines planted in the 1970s, a rare find in the Okanagan. It's smooth and rich, with fruit flavors bordering on tropical. Stone fruits, banana and a dash of cream combine gracefully and linger sensuously on the palate. It was aged 16 months in half-new French oak.
