2017 Queen Taken Chardonnay

The wine has essences of sandalwood and sub-tropical fruits, combined with delicate floral notes of rosewater. The palate showcases peach, marmalade, lychee with a rich texture that becomes delicate with exposure to air.

Dekleva Vineyard

Southwest of the town of Oliver, this vineyard contains some of the oldest Chardonnay plantings in Canada. Located beneath Mt. Kobau and the Thompson Plateau, these vines are approaching 50 years of age. Of unknown origin, the vines are an extraordinarily distinctive Chardonnay clone named Dekleva in honour of the family who planted this vineyard.

The nose is a lovely floral affair with threads of wet stone/mineral note mixed with ripe tropical melons and citrus. The palate is equally intense nectarine orange marmalade notes with a dash of exotic litchi fruit.

94 Points, Anthony Gismondi

The wine is notable for its texture: a bony frame supporting long-term aging. It begins with aromas of citrus, notably orange peel. On the palate, there are flavours of stone fruit, with minerality on the back of the palate that expresses itself as wet stone.

95 Points, John Schreiner
