2017 Little Pawn Chardonnay

Vibrant nose with hints of rose petal, mandarin and sandalwood. Flavours of white peach and mandarin excite the senses with a citrus line extending the palate, complexed by herbal, fennel and sea salt notes.

Jagged Rock Vineyard

Nestled in the Okanagan Highland foothills of the Black Sage Bench just southeast of Oliver, these Chardonnay blocks were planted in 1999 on a west-facing plateau to a mix of clone 76 and our heritage ‘Dekleva’ clone.

The soil is composed of sand and gravel formed by glacial activity. The porous nature of the soils limits the vigour of the vines, producing low-yielding grape clusters concentrated in flavour.

The wine begins with a lovely perfume of rose petals and mandarin orange. On the tightly structured palate, there are flavours of mandarin and peach mingled with herbs and hints of salinity. The finish is crisp.

98 Points, John Schreiner

The nose is a mix of sagebrush and fennel. The textures are creamy with a floral leesy, citrus and orange flavours with a spicy finish — a rare combination of elegance with power.

92 Points, Anthony Gismondi
