2016 Little Pawn Chardonnay

Vibrant floral nose with hints of rose petal, mandarin and sandalwood. On the palate, subtle richness, hints of vanilla bean, cream, mandarin, orange and beautiful oak integration create a wine of restrained elegance, with substantial length carried by bright acidity.

Jagged Rock Vineyard

Nestled in the Okanagan Highland foothills of the Black Sage Bench just southeast of Oliver, these Chardonnay blocks were planted in 1999 on a west-facing plateau to a mix of clone 76 and our heritage ‘Dekleva’ clone.

The soil is composed of sand and gravel formed by glacial activity. The porous nature of the soils limits the vigour of the vines, producing low-yielding grape clusters concentrated in flavour.

There are aromas of citrus, sage and licorice. The palate is a medley of fruit flavours including Mandarin orange mingled with subtle oak notes. Tropical and citrus fruits are revealed on the very long finish, with bright acidity keeping the wine fresh and lively.
