2013 Queen Taken Chardonnay

The wine has essences of citrus peel, honeydew melon and white peach combined with aromas of freshly toasted brioche, rose hip, wet stone and floral notes. The palate has a generous, broad entry, rich mid-palate and good acidity providing a long, complex, textured finish.

Dekleva Vineyard

Southwest of the town of Oliver, this vineyard contains some of the oldest Chardonnay plantings in Canada. Located beneath Mt. Kobau and the Thompson Plateau, these vines are approaching 50 years of age. Of unknown origin, the vines are an extraordinarily distinctive Chardonnay clone named Dekleva in honour of the family who planted this vineyard.

The aromas appeal with refreshing hints of citrus and brioche. On the palate, there is the note of white peach characteristic of the Heritage clone. The wine has a rich mid-palate texture, with a spice of minerality and with refreshing acidity.
