A complex wine with aromas of orchard blossom and melon backed by hints of graphite. The palate has a rich entry with flavours of pear and nectarine. There is tension across the mid palate followed by long lasting wet stone and mineral elements.

"This is a rich and complex wine, reflecting the eleven clones of Chardonnay assembled in the wine, from vineyards on both sides of the valley. Some 20% of the blend is from the Jagged Rock vineyard. The wine has aromas and flavours of marmalade, pear, stone fruits and spice. The finish is long."

"The goal is complexity, and it begins with a complex mix of clones: Dekleva, Combret, Old Wente, Prosser, Hyde-Wente, Mt. Eden, Calera, Dijon 76, 95, 96, and 548. It opens with an inviting orchard blossom and melon nose. The palate has a rich entry pushing pears and nectarines with some vanilla at this stage. The acidity is fine, and I imagine this wine will tighten up a bit and show more restraint with time in the bottle as all the parts come together."
